PROJECTS

Apogee Engineers has performed over 220 projects in the past nineteen years. Here is a sample listing of projects our team has designed. Included in our design services are structure and materials procurement assistance, construction documents creation, assistance during construction, and post-construction as-build conformance of construction documents.

McIntosh – Statesboro 230kV

Savannah, Georgia
Replace 3.4 miles of the McIntosh – Statesboro 230kV line on 27 concrete single pole structures for tornado restoration of this critical backbone line. Close coordination with the utility’s procurement and construction departments enabled expedited restoration of this line.

Lejeune – French Creek 230kV

Jacksonville, North Carolina
Install the new 2.9-mile Lejeune – French Creek 230kV line with steel single pole and two-pole structures on the Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base.

Sumter – Canadys 230kV

Santee, South Carolina
Replace 1.3 miles of the Sumter – Canadys 230kV line crossing Lake Marion with 11 concrete single pole structures in the lake due to the deteriorated condition of the existing wood H-frame structures. Included US Army Corps of Engineers permitting assistance.

Jasper – Pine Grove 230kV

Valdosta, Georgia
Rebuild 21 miles of the Jasper – Pine Grove 230kV (115kV initial operation) line on single concrete pole structures.

North Camilla – Hopeful 230kV

Camilla, Georgia
Install the new 17-mile North Camilla – Hopeful 230kV (46kV initial operation) line on single concrete pole structures. Expedited scheduling with multiple construction crews required the design, procurement, and release of construction packages in multiple phases.

Kettle Creek – Homeland 230kV

Waycross, Georgia
Install the new 36-mile Kettle Creek – Homeland 230kV line on single steel pole structures. Included construction in Okefenokee Swamp and across CSX railroad hump yard.

Deptford – Kraft 115kV

Savannah, Georgia
Upgrade 9 miles of the Deptford – Kraft 115kV line to 100° C operation using concrete and steel pole H-frame structures. Swamp conditions. Included raising a large span crossing of the Savannah River to accommodate barges with raised cranes.

Ft. Meade – Vandolah 230kV

Ft. Meade, Florida
Relocate 6.3 miles of the Ft. Meade – Vandolah 230kV line on single concrete and steel pole structures to accommodate a mining company expansion. Provided environmental permit support and extensive coordination to meet mining company requirements.

Brooksville West – Brooksville 115kV

Brooksville, Florida
Rebuild 9 miles of the double-circuit Brooksville West – Brooksville 115kV line for future 230kV operation with concrete single pole construction. Developed construction sequence to allow one circuit to remain energized during construction.

FERC 1000 Bid Support Design

Kentucky, Indiana and New York
FERC 1000 turn-key bid support design of a total of 225 miles of 345kV single steel pole and steel H-frame structures. Included structure design, material quantities, and EMF and electrostatic induction assessment.

Dean Forest – Millhaven Annex 115kV

Savannah, Georgia
Rebuild 5 miles of the Dean Forest – Millhaven Annex 115kV line on single concrete pole and single steel pole structures. 2 miles is double-circuit with the Boulevard – Millhaven Annex 46kV line.

East Watkinsville – Russell Dam 230kV

Athens, Georgia
Reconductor 48 miles of the East Watkinsville – Russell Dam 230kV line with 1351-T13 ACCR conductor. Required raising existing lattice towers or replacing towers with H-frame steel pole structures. Design included construction coordination to determine wire pulling points and unique reel lengths.

North Americus – Perry 115kV

Perry, Georgia
Rebuild 43 miles of the North Americus – Perry 115kV line on single concrete pole, H-frame concrete pole, and single steel pole structures. Construction phasing sequence developed to allow multiple tap lines to remain energized during construction.
